Virtua 0.8.4 · kernel 7.2.4
Your VMs, containers and Docker. One console.
VirtuaOS turns a Debian 13 server into a complete virtualization platform: QEMU/KVM virtual machines, LXC containers and Docker, storage, networking and backups, all driven from a modern web interface.
- Self-hosted
- MIT license
- FR / EN interface

Everything to host your workloads
Virtual machines
QEMU/KVM with UEFI or BIOS, Secure Boot (OVMF), virtio, host-passthrough CPU, cloning, export to template, x86_64 and aarch64.
LXC containers
Multi-NIC networking, snapshots, backups, shared GPU (Intel, AMD, NVIDIA) and persistent USB passthrough.
Docker and Compose
Full container editing, persistent Docker Compose, volumes, macvlan/ipvlan networks for a dedicated public IP.
Snapshots and backups
Live, without freezing the machine, zstd-compressed, restorable as-is or modified.
Cloud-style networking
Persistent bridges, NAT, OVH failover IPs with virtual MAC, per-resource firewall, automatic bridge repair.
Datacenter (VDM)
Manage multiple nodes from a central console: inventory, migration, scheduled backups, VDM high availability.
Architecture
Secure by design
Virtua strictly separates the interface from system operations:
- the API (Fastify, port 8441) does not run as root: sessions, CSRF, MFA, quotas, audit;
- the root runner only executes a closed list of actions over a Unix socket, never building shell commands;
- the React web interface talks to the API; consoles go through short-lived, limited-use tickets.
Result: no hypervisor console port is ever exposed to the client.
Access
Drive it your way
Web interface
noVNC consoles, in-browser SPICE (sound, clipboard, resize) and per-VM RDP through an xrdp gateway.
virtua CLI
Bilingual, with a text UI (virtua gui): status, list, start, console, Docker Compose…
Desktop client
macOS, Windows 11 and Linux: connect to your servers or run VMs and containers locally.
Ready in minutes
Two commands on a minimal Debian 13, and your panel is up.
