Installation

From ISO to desktop

  1. 1

    Verify the image

    In the download folder:

    sha256sum -c auxinuxos-0.2.0-20261004-2-amd64.iso.sha256

    The result must read OK.

  2. 2

    Create a USB stick

Use a stick of at least 4 GB and a tool such as balenaEtcher, Ventoy or Rufus (DD mode). On Linux:

    sudo dd if=auxinuxos-0.2.0-20261004-2-amd64.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=4M status=progress oflag=sync

Replace /dev/sdX with your stick: its contents will be erased.

  3. 3

    Disable Secure Boot

In your computer's firmware (UEFI), disable Secure Boot, then boot from the USB stick.

  4. 4

    Try or install

The menu offers “Install AuxiNux OS now” (default) or “Try” to open the live desktop without changing anything.

  5. 5

    Follow “Install NOW”

Language, network (Wi-Fi supported), time zone, keyboard, disk, optional LUKS2 encryption, administrator account, then your app choices. A summary asks you to type OUI / YES before writing to disk.

  6. 6

    First boot

When online, the wizard offers browser, player, privacy tools and usage profile. Offline, the install stays minimal and the wizard will wait for you.

Before installing

“Install NOW” uses the entire disk. Back up your data. To keep Windows alongside (dual boot), choose “Try” and then the Install AuxiNuxOS icon (Calamares). Validated in virtual machines only — see the known limitations.
