Guide
Getting the most out of AuxiNuxOS
Everything can be done from the AuxiNux OS Center. For terminal lovers, here are the essentials.
Apps and updates
The auxi command
auxi guides APT and Flatpak usage. The direct apt and apt-get commands are hidden by default to avoid common mistakes.
auxi update # check for updates
auxi upgrade # apply (automatic snapshot)
auxi search firefox # search for an app
auxi install org.mozilla.firefox # install from Flathub
auxi install --deb package-name # install a DEB package
To re-enable direct APT (advanced users):
sudo auxi set apt=true
sudo auxi set apt=falseSnapshots
Create a restore point and roll back
auxi snapshots # list snapshots
sudo auxi snapshot "before test" # create a manual snapshot
sudo auxi rollback # return to the last good state
sudo auxi rollback 42 # return to snapshot #42
sudo auxi rollback-cleanup # remove old kept systems
A restore replaces the system but never /home or your Flatpak apps. If the machine no longer boots, choose “AuxiNux OS - snapshots (restore)” in the GRUB menu: the system boots in memory from the chosen snapshot.
